The Soapbox - A New Chapter at Insects Limited

Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to step up onto the soapbox. That’s exactly what we’re doing here. Inspired by our founder, Dave Mueller, we’re bringing back The Soapbox, a new column in our newsletter where we’ll share thoughts, ideas, and updates on topics that matter to us… and to you. Well, most of you. Think of it as anything from a behind-the-scenes look at what drives Insects Limited and how we’re working to make a difference, reflections on the industry, or even just the occasional random thought.
For our first edition, I want to talk about some changes we’ve made. Changes that were hard but necessary to ensure we keep delivering on our mission: Helping to Protect the World’s Food and Cherished Belongings from Damage by Insect Pests.
Over the last 12–18 months, I’ve spent most of my time deep in operations. Why? Because we needed to strengthen the foundation of our business. That meant making tough calls, including parting ways with some long-tenured team members, people who gave years of dedication to Insects Limited and to this industry. Those decisions were far from easy, but they opened the door to something important: new processes that make us more efficient, more responsive, and better positioned to serve you.
Our processes simply weren’t ready for the growth we’ve experienced. I could feel them bending. Now they are…and then some. Operations are smoother. Workflows are sharper. And we’ve created space for growth.
With this foundation in place, I’m stepping back into the role I’m most passionate about, sales and customer support. Historically, I’ve been on the road attending conferences, manning booths, and traveling internationally to ensure the industry knows Insects Limited stands for the most reliable, government/university-validated pheromone monitoring tools. It’s true, we have proof showing our products are the best. Now it’s time to get back there, complementing our marketing outreach with renewed sales efforts so the whole industry knows who we are and what we can do to help protect food and textiles.
